I was born and raised on the island of Sint Maarten. Being able to document our island with my cameras leaves me going to bed happier than I’ve ever been, despite life’s challenges. I grew up here playing different kinds of sports, but 6 years ago, I turned to (video- and) photography.
Now, it’s time to combine those two passions, in the vision that it will let people pay more attention to our movements. Seeing sports from above and below introduces you to new angles that help you feel bewonderment for these athletes.
Through this project, people will see how talented our athletes are and be encouraged to participate, and hopefully, sports can be there for them the same way they have always been for me, easing the pains and stresses during harder times. Let’s keep Sint Maarten moving.
